Outright ban on gambling ads closer after key vote
Gambling advertisements in the media will be subject to further limitations after a vote from MPs in the budget commission.
Television, news websites, and print media will no longer be able to advertise gambling and online bets will be limited. In addition, ads on billboards must be a minimum of 300 meters from educational institutions. And at least 10% of the space in such advertisements must contain text stipulating that gambling leads to addiction.
The proposal was surprisingly submitted a week ago by GERB and MRF.
Borislavova to waive her immunity
The former chief of staff to Kiril Petkov when he was prime minister, Lena Borislavova, announced on Facebook that she is ready to waive her immunity.
The Sofia District Prosecutor's Office initiated pre-trial proceedings against Borislavova for submitting false documents to the Registration Agency, with which she helped the co-chairman Petkov of WCC to become a minister several years ago.
"From now on, I declare that I will waive my immunity the moment it becomes an obstacle to an investigation ", Borislavova, who is still an important figure in WCC, wrote. She did, however, imply that she would be on the lists of WCC-DB for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
CSKA's Ganchev quits as CSKA owner
The owner of one of the biggest football clubs in Bulgaria CSKA-Sofia, Grisha Ganchev, is retiring from the club, it was announced on their official website.
After eight years at the head of the club Ganchev's family is retiring from the management of CSKA. The shares they owned have been transferred free of charge to the National Fund for Sport, Culture, Art and Science, which is connected to the betting company Winbet and businessman Valter Papazki.
