Peevski advises Borissov not to ally with WCC-DB

Delian Peevski has not sought to deny Assen Vassilev's claim that Boyko Borissov covets the presidency and Peevski the premiership. But the MRF chairman merely added that Vassilev had his eyes on the prime ministerial position too.

The MRF chairman further stated that Vassilev proposed being deputy prime minister and suggested that MRF should have both ministers and a deputy prime minister in the cabinet.

Peevski also said that Hristo Ivanov wanted to become president to "eliminate WCC'" and lead the right-wing political space. He claimed that the co-chairman of DB had proposed making Peevski prime minister while pensioning off Boyko Borissov. Peevski did not specify when these discussions took place but mentioned: "I informed Mr. Borissov that they wanted to pension him off. That's why I'm telling him today - if he ever plans to govern with these poodles and they come scratching at his door in Bankya, he should know - they come with many carriages of cash as a dowry."

Massive profit drop for National Electric Company

The National Electric Company (NEC) has reported a colossal profit drop within just one year. Preliminary data shows that its profit plummeted by approximately 1.1 billion levs, reaching nearly 100 million levs in 2023. The company's revenues fell by 33% to 3.4 billion levs, down from 5.2 billion levs in the same period the previous year. However, expenses decreased at a slower rate, dropping by 16% to 3.3 billion levs.

The primary reason for this drastic profit decline is significantly lower electricity exchange prices. While 2022 was a record year for all companies in the energy sector, the situation rapidly changed for most of them last year.

Bulgarian lawyer receives patent for innovative sock design

Professor Ivan Todorov, an expert in administrative law and process, has been awarded a European patent for his invention. In an interview, Todorov explained that his invention is a system ensuring that socks do not slip down to the ankle while avoiding excessive tightness around the leg.

"Almost always, both my socks and those of my acquaintances would slip down when worn. So, I thought about it and came up with an idea to prevent this. I developed it, formalized it, and applied for the patent," he recounts.

The inventor added that that his invention aims to create a sock that can be worn effortlessly, without excessive compression on the leg muscles, and stay in place at a specific height above the ankle.
