Forecasts outline a trend of growing optimism for the Bulgarian economy

Aurubis Bulgaria's CEO Tim Kurth

What was the major event in Bulgarian economy in the last quarter and why?

I would note the trends rather than a specific event. The Bulgarian economy grew by 3.6 present of GDP in a year and unemployment fell below 6 present, both better than the Eurozone averages. In parallel, the industry continues to increase its share in the gross added value. All forecasts outline a trend of growing optimism for the Bulgarian economy.

What do you expect in the next major development in Bulgarian economy in the forthcoming quarter or further and why?

My expectations are focused on a particular pending project. We have been talking for about 15 years now about the gas supply of the Srednogorie. This region hosts several of the most important enterprises for Bulgaria, the benefits to households are also undisputable. For the coming quarter I do expect quicker solutions at institutional level for the Srednogorie gasification.
