Interim cabinet will be sworn in tomorrow

The interim cabinet of Dimitar Glavchev will take the oath of office at an emergency session of the National Assembly tomorrow at 9am.

By the end of the day, the future interim prime minister is expected to inform the president of the final list of ministers. Early tomorrow morning, Rumen Radev will have issued a decree appointing the interim government, as well as set the dates for the European and national elections.

Meanwhile, WCC-DB insists that Radev should not sign the decree if Kalin Stoyanov remains as Interior Minister. Last week Stoyanov's name headlined several scandals connected to the appointment of MoI staff and electоral vote manipulation.

BSP proposes Easter bonuses for pensioners

BSP has proposed various Easter bonuses for pensioners before the second reading of the bill amending the State Social Security Budget.

The socialist formula suggests that the 534,000 people below the poverty line of 526 levs receive 100 levs instead of 75 levs, with other pensioners receiving 50 levs each. The initiative would require a budget of 130 million levs.

The bill, supported by GERB and MRF, instead offers a one-time payment of 75 levs to pensioners and supplement recipients below the poverty line. It will cost the state 40 million levs.

Delian Asparouhov's Varda cashes in 90 million dollars

Bulgarian-born Delian Asparouhov's Varda Space Industries has raised 90 million dollars to expand its production of pharmaceuticals.

Asparouhov announced this week that the company has completed a Series B round led by venture firm Caffeinated Capital, with participation from Lux Capital, General Catalyst, Founders Fund and Khosla Ventures, which brings the capital it has raised to date to 145 million dollars.
