Borissov Accuses Russian Regime of Murdering Navalny

Global leaders and officials across Europe, North America, and beyond have reacted with consternation to the news of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny's death in prison, which was announced today by Russian authorities.

Boyko Borissov, Chairman of GERB, took to his Instagram account to say that Navalny's death was a calculated act by the Russian regime. "This is a direct assault on democracy. It's imperative that we exert significant pressure on the Kremlin and offer greater support to Ukraine," said the former prime minister.

Marijuana greenhouse uncovered in Veliki Preslav

Police discovered a greenhouse cultivating a special strain of marijuana in Veliki Preslav yesterday, reported the Ministry of Interior's press center. Two men, aged 19 and 26, have been arrested.

More than 2 kg of dry produce and 15 plants, reaching a height of approximately 50 cm, were seized. Confiscated equipment includes high-tech lamps, specially adapted tents for cultivation, climate control and ventilation systems, moisture absorbers, as well as fertilizers and chemicals. The case materials have been reported to the Shumen District Prosecutor's Office, under whose direction the pre-trial proceedings will continue.

Food dominates household expenses

In the last quarter of the previous year, per-person household income surged by 18.1% to 2,866 levs, reveals data from the National Statistical Institute. Notably, income from salaries spiked by 24.2%, while self-employment income skyrocketed by 52.9%.

Average expenditure per household member also rose by 18.1% annually, reaching 2,668 levs in the final quarter. A more detailed examination of expenditure showed that food and soft drinks claimed the largest portion at 29.9%, followed by housing costs (16.1%), taxes and social insurance (13.1%), and transport and communications (11.5%).
