Vassil Terziev: WCC and DB's mayor candidate
After months of rumors surrounding IT entrepreneur Vassil Terziev's potential candidacy for mayor of Sofia, he is expected to officially launch his candidacy next week. According to Dnevnik, a final agreement has been reached to secure support from WCC, DB, and Save Sofia, as well as the civic platform Sofia's Team.
The formations continue to deflect questions on the topic, merely saying that they will soon make an official statement.
The expected announcement of the candidate for Sofia will also mark the beginning of the campaign for local elections, although its official part will be a month before elections - in October. A joint candidacy of WCC and DB, who appeared in a coalition in the last parliamentary elections in April, comes as no surprise, although it has taken a lot more negotiations than expected.
First IPO of 2023
The first initial public offering (IPO) of 2023 has been a success. IpoTech Sofcom managed to raise BGN 2.4 million on June 21, slightly below the target of BGN 3 million. The company, which offers mortgages and loans online, managed to place just over 800,000 preferred shares at a price of BGN 3 each, which achieved a capitalization of BGN 11.4 million.
Irena Vacheva, executive director of the credit company, announced there were certain concerns about the date for raising funds - mid-June. "Nevertheless, we remain pleasantly surprised and proud that in the holiday season we managed to achieve over 80% success in registering for the first time on the BEAM market of preferred shares", she added.
PVC manufacturer invests 70 million levs in growth
PVC profile manufacturer Profilink will invest 70 million and expand its business to aluminum. Last year, the company purchased a plot of 186 acres in the village of Radinovo near Plovdiv, where it is currently building a new automated and robotic factory for aluminum profiles, which will be implemented in several stages.
The building of the first hall with an area of 29 thousand square meters is almost ready, and after the machines arrive from Italy in August and are installed, the enterprise will operate at full capacity at the beginning of 2024. Hence the company is already recruiting 120 workers, engineers and managers for the new production.
