81% of Bulgarians don't trust the government

Bulgarian national institutions are far less trusted than the average level in other European Union countries, a Eurobarometer survey shows.

Well below the Union average is the level of trust in: Parliament (Bulgaria - 14%, EU - 33%), the government (Bulgaria - 19%, EU - 32%), political parties (Bulgaria - 12%, EU - 21%), and local authorities (Bulgaria - 45%, EU - 56%). Compared to EU citizens, Bulgarians also have significantly lower trust in:
the judicial system (Bulgaria - 26%, EU - 54% ), the army (Bulgaria - 49%, EU - 71%),

and the police (Bulgaria - 47%, EU - 70%).
