Glavchev discusses NATO with Stoltenberg

Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev attended a joint briefing with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and announced that the question of the transfer of Bulgarian soldiers to Ukraine was never broached.

The prime minister dismissed all such rumors to the contrary, insisting that NATO would continue to help Ukraine while avoiding any military escalation.

"The time has come to rethink the restrictions on the use of Western weapons for military purposes in Russia," NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg had said beforehand. Earlier today, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which is being held in Bulgaria, adopted a declaration to lift the restrictions, with a decision to be made at the summit of the alliance in Washington in July.

Radev and Malinov in Hungary

President Rumen Radev arrived in Budapest on a working visit where he will open a Bulgarian cultural and educational center, built with the support of the Hungarian state. About 3,800 Bulgarians are currently in Hungary.

Radev discussed with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán energy, economy, investments, culture and education, topics from the regional and European agenda, and the Hungarian presidency of the Council of the EU starting on July 1. The announcement does not specify the composition of the Bulgarian delegation, but energy minister Vladimir Malinov is certainly present and he will be discussing the new vertical gas corridor project.

Vazrazhdane to form new political entity with AfD

Bulgarian pro-Kremlin party Vazrazhdane will establish a new European political grouping, its leader Kostadin Kostadinov has revealed. He clarified that what "no other Bulgarian political party has done" would happen on June 12, when representatives of parties from the entire European Union would gather in Sofia.

Kostadinov announced that yesterday and today he had held talks with representatives of the national populist Berman AfD, which was expelled from the far-right group Identity and Democracy in the European parliament.
