Borissov: "Only Way Out Is New Elections"

The National Assembly unanimously voted for the resignation of Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, and the resignation of his government. President Rumen Radev must now initiate a procedure for convening consultations with parties represented in parliament and handing over a mandate to GERB to form a government.

However, the vote on Denkov's resignation led to a flurry of fresh recriminations between the parties in the government: GERB said that WCC-DB was "in a hurry for early elections". At a congress of the European People's Party (EPP) in Bucharest, Borissov announced that he is going to early elections.

"They want new elections, they provoke them, they want them, but they want to make GERB look guilty. They want to make it look like we are against the judicial reforms, but they can no longer talk nonsense about us in Europe," added Borissov.

Denkov Urges More Support For Ukraine

"Russia's victory is not in our interest," said now-ex Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ). He said it was vital that Bulgaria supports Ukraine in order to restore the pre-war order.

Denkov stressed that this position is reinforced through arms deliveries and the provision of humanitarian aid. He pointed out that not only President Radev but also some Bulgarian opposition leaders claim that the best road to peace is by not supplying weapons to Ukraine.

"But it is obvious that in such a case Russia would win the war," he stressed.

Minors To Visit Cinemas And Restaurants After 10pm Only With A Declaration

The cabinet today approved changes to the Ordinance on specialized protection of children in public places. The new amendments include a procedure for certifying the status of a companion of minor children over the age of 14 in public places after 10 p.m. If a parent, guardian or the person who takes care of the child cannot accompany them to these places after 10 p.m., the child would have to produce a certification by means of a signed declaration.

The owners, tenants or users of commercial establishments, including shops, restaurants, cinemas and theaters, whose premises are frequented by children, will be required to place information boards for the requirements for accompanying children in public places.
