WCC-DB Begins Resignation Of Government

Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov has formally submitted his resignation to the National Assembly, as confirmed by the Government Information Press Service. His decision comes amidst political speculation and upheaval surrounding the planned changes. He is scheduled to deliver a statement to the media at 7 p.m. tonight.

Earlier today the coalition WCC-DB announced its intention to propose the resignation of the Prime Minister and the entire government, slated for a vote in parliament tomorrow. This move reflects the coalition's commitment to its promise, ensuring Denkov's nine-month tenure at the helm of the state, following the election of the Denkov - Gabriel cabinet by the National Assembly on June 6, 2023.

Borissov Warns Gabriel Over Ministerial Choices

Boyko Borissov, leader of GERB, cautioned Mariya Gabriel, the next prime minister nominee, about potential challenges from five WCC ministers. He urged her to consider her power dynamics carefully. Borissov emphasized the risk of failure. "If you accept to be prime minister with the current finance minister, they will fail you in a few months. If you fail, we will collapse, because we will have no more tools in front of the voters," he said.

Borissov targeted finance minister Assen Vassilev, defense minister Todor Tagarev, minister of the economy Bogdan Bogdanov, sports minister Dimitar Iliev, and tourism minister Zaritsa Dinkova.

He also attempted to sow discord between WCC and DB, calling on Atanas Atanassov and Hristo Ivanov "to see what is happening on the sidelines, and how the WCC is usurping all power".

Vitosha Venture Partners Invest In 5 Startups

Vitosha Venture Partners, backed primarily by the state Fund of Funds, has finalized investments in five emerging companies. These latest investments, ranging from 140,000 to 600,000 euros per company, secure Vitosha a stake of 5% to 20% in each.

WIth the end of their current active investment period, Vitosha partners are planning on starting a new fund - Vitosha II is among candidates for the three upcoming FoF fund managers. Their plans include launching a new fund next year, focused on early-stage regional companies, with a similar team structure.
