Resignations At Sofia District Prosecutor's Office

Following fresh revelations about the network surrounding the murdered Martin Bojanov - "the Notary", this morning the entire leadership of the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office submitted resignations to the Prosecution College of the High Judicial Council.

In the wake of the departures, the Prosecution College of the High Judicial Council will have to appoint an acting head of the SRP. This will take place at a meeting, at which the resignations of Nevena Zartova, the head of SRP, who submitted an application to leave the post, and her four deputies, must first be accepted. Then, as a matter of immediacy, a temporary leader must be elected.

A prosecutor's office cannot remain without a leader for a single day, so the resignations submitted today have not yet been accepted.

With the same term, two more programs for improving the material base of schools, kindergartens and nurseries have been extended and each of them now has a budget of 240 million levs.

Bulgarian Bright Consulting Bought By American Virtusa

While the world is flooded with news of layoffs in IT companies, one Bulgarian company in the sector kicks off the year with positive news: Bulgarian software company Bright Consulting has been bought by the American Virtusa Corporation. The Sofia-based company has a team of 140 people and sales topping 15 million levs for 2022, with nearly 2 million levs in net profit, while the new owner has more than 35,000 employees globally.

The deal was finalized on February 7, when the Dutch Virtusa International, the European branch of the American company, entered the Commercial Register as the sole owner of the Bulgarian enterprise. No price was disclosed, but judging by tech company valuations and Bright Consulting's earnings, it's certainly in the double-digit millions.
