Denkov: Vatev's Resignation Not On Table

Agriculture Minister Kiril Vatev's resignation will not become a bargaining point in farmers' protests, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov asserted today. His statement came in response to protests outside the Council of Ministers from 26 agricultural organizations who were dissatisfied with the newly negotiated agreement and claimed that Denkov had declined their requests to meet today.

Denkov suggested that any further demands from the protesters should be properly laid down following a review of the agreement, enabling potential discussions.

Justice Minister to Investigate 'the Notary's' Death

Justice Minister Atanas Slavov announced an investigation into whether Martin Bojanov, 'the Notary', who was shot on January 31, was under any form of witness protection and if he utilized specialized transport from the Witness Protection Bureau.

This inquiry follows a Supreme Judicial Council meeting where the council, after a seven-hour session with key judicial figures and an investigative journalist, decided to establish a special commission. The commission will delve into Bojanov's alleged influence within the judiciary and connections with judges, prosecutors, and police officials. Additionally, it will examine claims of magistrates' exclusive access to Bojanov's private club. The scope and structure of the commission's work will be outlined in the council's next meeting.

Burgas Launches Pilot Dog Patrol For Public Safety

Burgas will initiate a pilot project from tomorrow aimed at enhancing public order through the deployment of a foot patrol accompanied by a service dog. This new measure will cover the city's central area, focusing on main pedestrian zones.

The patrol, consisting of officers from the Specialized Police Forces and a muzzled service dog wearing a vest for official duties, aims to prevent violations around key areas including the railway and bus stations, the Sea Garden, and other well-frequented spots. This initiative complements the existing bicycle patrols in the Sea Garden area, reinforcing the commitment to public safety
