Bulgaria sends unserviceable missiles to Ukraine
In a secret meeting, Parliament approved a draft decision to provide C-300 anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine. However, it is mentioned that the missiles are defective.
All the political parties supported the move apart from BSP which left the chamber and pro-Kremlin Vazrazhdane which voted against.

Peevski support 9% VAT rate for restaurants
The pro-Turkish DPS will not support reverting to the 20 percent VAT restaurant rate, Magnitsky- sanctioned MP Delyan Peevski announced in parliament.
"We are strongly opposed; the 9% should remain," he said.
Yesterday, the Finance Ministry published a package of proposals for legislative changes in relation to the draft budget for 2024, including the restoration of normal VAT rates.
Finance Minister Assen Vassilev had already told journalists that he was in negotiations with the restaurateurs and was inclined to leave the reduced rate agreed during Covid if they find a way to boost tax collection. Yesterday, representatives of GERB, and today - party leader Boyko Borissov, also spoke against restoring the higher rate.
EC slams Energy Act changes
The European Commission has returned the submitted Energy Act draft amendments with many criticisms. The Energy Act changes will likely be voted on this Friday in Parliament.
The bill's main purpose is to liberalize the regulated domestic electricity market and remove the state provider from the equation. However, EC argues that no real commitments are made and that the revisions are insufficient. EC also points out that Bulgaria is not doing enough to limit anti-market electricity subsidies and find a way to help impoverished people access essential energy services.
