Nationwide protests block main roads

Agricultural producers staged protests at critical points throughout the country - including border crossings, main roads and highways. Tomorrow they will demonstrate in the capital, announced the National Association of Grain Producers.

The action followed a national meeting in Arbanasi attended by representatives of 26 agricultural organizations and the recent decision to re-import certain products (including wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds) from Ukraine after September 15, 2023.

Prime Minister Denkov claimed that the farmers' demands have either already been resolved, or cannot be resolved because deadlines are being set that cannot be met.

Teenage burglar shot dead by police

Police officers shot an 18-year-old young man today who, with two accomplices, robbed two girls and later jumped over the fence of a business center. The injured man has since died, the Ministry of the Interior said.

Around 2 o'clock, the Sofia police received a report that three men attacked two girls, hit one and stole a backpack, personal belongings and money.

Three hours later, a security guard at a business center reported that three masked men were jumping over the complex's fence.

Drone mine detonated by military

After cordoning the area around the Black Sea town of Tyulenovo last night, the MoD announced today that it has detonated a mine attached to a drone.

The mine consisted of a 82-mm high-explosive mortar. It was decided to destroy it on the spot because, given its damaged condition, moving and transporting it was impossible. The mine was destroyed with a controlled explosion in a secured area with a radius of 150 m.

It is still unclear whether the drone was used by the Russian or Ukrainian armed forces and how it reached Bulgarian waters. Most likely, the drone fell into the sea and the currents brought it to Tyulenovo. This version is also supported by the state of the drone and the ammunition attached to it.
