State to finally regain control over Rosenets port

With 134 votes for, 45 against and 14 abstentions parliament adopted amendments to the laws regarding Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In practice this now enables the state to terminate the oil concession with oil giant Lukoil at the Rosenets port within a week, without permission from the European Union. Following the withdrawal of the concession, operational control of the port will revert to the Ministry of Transport.

The Lukoil Neftohim Burgas company stated that all publicly leveled accusations of smuggling and other violations on the terminal's territory are untruthful and that it intends to go to court to protect its business reputation. Politicians against the concession claim that "smuggling goes through there" and that Russian oil is unloaded in violation of European sanctions.

Restaurant to blame for exorbitant steaks

The Commission for Consumer Protection (CCP) found violations in a case involving a restaurant in Varna, in which a customer paid BGN 490 for three steaks. A few days ago, he distributed a clip on social networks in which he showed the receipt from a restaurant in which 100 grams of steaks were marked 14 times, at a price of BGN 35. The waitress told him that the total weight of the three steaks consumed is 1.4 kg in the raw state and that forms the price.

After media publications, the CCP announced that they are starting mass inspections of establishments along the Black Sea. "The prices of meals in restaurants must refer to the exact weight per portion, not per 100 grams," the CCP said.

In case of failure to comply with an order of the CCP on the unfair practice under the Consumer Protection Act, the restaurant will face a sanction of between 3,000 and 70,000 BGN.
