Geshev requests immunity of two more deputies

Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev submitted to the National Assembly a request to lift the immunity of two MPs carrying the initials V.V. and A.G. today. In all likelihood, the case concerns Vazrazhdane deputies Veselin Veshev and Angel Georgiev.

With regards to V.V., the prosecutor's office reported that the person was elected as a municipal councilor. This fits Veselin Veshev's profile: he was a municipal councilor in Varna before becoming an MP. As for A.G. it was reported that he was elected as a deputy in the 47th National Assembly, as is the case with Angel Georgiev.

Wanted Galevi brother confirmed dead in Bulgaria

Angel Hristov - Gele, one of the Galevi brothers from Dupnitsa, died of a heart attack in Bulgaria, an autopsy revealed.

Plamen Galev and Angel Hristov (referred to as the Galevi Brothers, although they are not blood-related) were declared international fugitives in 2012 after they fled Bulgaria following their final conviction for organizing and leading a criminal group for racketeering and extortion. It was believed they were still abroad so it came as a surprise to find out he died in Dupnitsa on Saturday.

Yesterday, Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev announced that a DNA test had confirmed Hristov's identity. He did not enter the country with his own identity document, so if he did use any document, it was not genuine. Demerdzhiev claims that Hristov probably crossed the land border with Greece during busy hours, or crossed illegally. He specified that important circumstances surrounding his death were being checked.

It produced around 264 thousand bikes, of which 240 thousand were electric and the remaining 24 thousand were conventional.
