European Commissioner Maria Gabriel will be GERB's official nominee for prime minister in the National Assembly tomorrow, media outlet Dnevnik learned from a source in the party today. Gabriel is responsible for innovation, research, culture, education and youth at the European Commission.
Earlier today, Boyko Borissov announced that he is determined to form a government and tomorrow he will present in parliament his nominee to other party leaders. As the winner of the April elections, GERB will be the first to receive a mandate to form a government, and today the president announced that this will happen early next week. Then the party will have a one-week deadline to present the structure and composition of a possible government.
Euro law to be submitted in a month
The law on the adoption of the euro will be submitted to the National Assembly within a month, Deputy Minister of Finance Metodi Metodiev announced today at a discussion regarding Bulgaria's membership of the eurozone. He emphasized that meeting the inflation criterion remains a major challenge.
Although Bulgaria will not join the Eurozone on January 1, 2024, the caretaker government continues to work on preparing the country for membership at an accelerated pace, he stressed. "Bulgaria is making every possible effort to be ready to accept the euro no later than January 1, 2025," he pointed out.
Tailor Antoine Ville to build new production site
In July, Ruse-based tailoring company Antoin Ville will be moving to a new distribution center that will ensure greater efficiency, lower costs, greater productivity and better working conditions. This is the first stage of the company's investment plan, the owners announced.
The new building, the construction of which began at the beginning of March, is located on an area of about 1,200 square meters. Its construction complies with the requirements for energy efficiency and the autonomy of the energy storage. The total investment in the distribution center will be about BGN 1.2-1.4 million.
