EC returns Bulgaria's Strategic Plan for 8 billion euros
The European Commission has returned Bulgaria's Strategic Plan with 200 comments, announced Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ivan Hristanov on Thursday. According to Svetlana Boyanova, chairwoman of the Institute of Agrarian Economics, Bulgaria has 200 comments on the plan, but some countries have 400. "This does not mean that we have got something wrong. The Commission's notes are different," she said, meaning that their notes do not necessarily refer to mistakes.
"The strategic plan is the document on the basis of which Bulgarian agriculture and rural areas will be financed with 8 billion euros over the next few years, so it is essential. We will have to achieve concrete results, and not just spend the money that Europe gives us," commented Boyanova.
A1 Bulgaria to buy Stemo to become IT leader
The domestic unit of A1 Telekom Austria Group - A1 Bulgaria, has announced that it is buying 100% of Stemo, one of Bulgaria's largest IT companies, founded 31 years ago in Gabrovo. After rumors of a possible deal a few months ago the acquisition is now a reality. This means that A1 has gained control of a company with almost 300 specialists, and a business with annual revenues topping 60 million levs. The price of the deal was not officially announced, but according to market sources, the transaction amounts to almost 50 million levs.
More Ukrainians are leaving Bulgaria than staying here
During the past 24 hours, 2165 Ukrainian citizens have entered all border crossings in Bulgaria. Meanwhile, 3563 people have left the country, reports BNT, referring to data from Border Police.
On Tuesday, the government's press service noted an intensified flow back to Ukraine's peaceful zones, as those leaving Bulgaria outnumber new arrivals by more than three to one - 3,076 versus 901.
