Third consecutive no-confidence motion fails, Peevski declares support for a full term
The third vote of no confidence against the cabinet of PM Rossen Zhelyazkov was rejected without much resistance after MRF-New Beginning of Delyan Peevski once again supported the ruling majority and announced that it would continue to do so throughout its full term in office.
Only 54 MPs from the parliamentary groups of Mech, Vazrazhdane, and Velichie voted in favor of the cabinet's resignation. WCC-DB and Ahmed Dogan's ARF faction did not participate in the vote. 130 MPs - from GERB, BSP, TISP, and MRF-New Beginning, as well as four independents - voted against the motion.
The leader of MRF-New Beginning Delyan Peevski, whose party had remained silent on the vote in recent days, left the plenary hall immediately after the vote and addressed the opposition in the corridors, stating that the next parliamentary elections would be regular, meaning four years on from the last ones.
