President and political leaders: we will not send Bulgarian soldiers to Ukraine
After months of constant bickering, president Rumen Radev, GERB leader Boyko Borissov, BSP's Atanas Zafirov and MRF-New Beginning Delyan Peevski have finally agreed on something - that Bulgaria should not send military personnel to Ukraine in any form.
No official statements were sought on the topic. But a request sent by the US on how Bulgaria sees its role in the negotiation process for Ukraine's future and whether it would participate with troops in preserving peace and security in Ukraine after the end of hostilities was accepted as such.
"GERB's position is that no Bulgarian soldier will be sent to Ukraine," commented Borissov. He added that Bulgaria will continue to support Ukraine by all other means and is ready to participate in its post-war reconstruction.
