Burgas companies to repair port breakwater for 40 million levs
The State Enterprise "Port Infrastructure" (SEPI) has selected the companies that will repair the neglected breakwater at the port of Burgas.
The public procurement was announced in October, when only three candidates appeared in the tender. The selected one is a consortium of construction companies from the region - Transstroy Burgas, SMK-Montazhi and the design company Esrt Bau.
The estimated value of the public procurement for the repair of the breakwater was 41.9 million levs excluding VAT, and has now fallen by 2.5 million levs to 39.4 million levs excluding VAT.
Businesses will get money for electricity costs but hand it back
The compensation paid to businesses for their electricity costs will be reformatted so that companies not only receive, but in certain cases also return, money to the state, as agreed upon by Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov and the employers' organizations.
Currently, the ceiling above which the state covers all costs is 180 BGN/MWh, the same as last year. Now the idea is to have a minimum and maximum threshold for exchange-traded electricity prices, at which an automatic compensation mechanism will be applied for strategic sectors of the economy, and not, as is currently the case - "on a shoestring" for everyone.
However, in the event of extraordinary price peaks, there will be help for other sectors as well. The idea is that companies will be compensated beyond this threshold - if it is exceeded, but they will also return revenues to the Security of the Electricity System (SES) fund if it is not reached, the Ministry of Energy explains.
The state owes more than 4 billion levs for services in 2024
The state currently owes 4.068 billion levs in 2024 and this money will be an additional burden when preparing the 2025 budget, announced the Minister of Finance Temenuzhka Petkova, regarding the obligations of the ministries and municipalities that accumulated last year.
Petkova has stated several times that state finances are in a parlous state but the cabinet will do everything possible to prepare a budget with a deficit of up to 3%. She also gave a breakdown of the unpaid funds:
Activities performed with invoices issued that have not been paid - 1.08 billion levs;
Activities performed with certificates of work performed, but without invoices - 1.63 billion levs.
Signed agreements for the deferral of expenses - 913 million levs.
Deficit of the electricity system security fund - 444 million levs.
