Man's arrest reveals channel for illegal migrant trafficking
Border Police officers have arrested a 30-year-old man who was transporting seven migrants who had illegally crossed the country's border in his car, the Ministry of Interior announced. They identified themselves as Moroccans, but did not have identity documents on them. The driver and the migrants were detained.
During additional checks in the area, another car was found, driven by a 22-year-old driver from Pazardzhik, who was also involved in the criminal enterprise. It was established that both men belong to a scheme for illegal crossing and transporting migrants to the interior of the country, as well as another two men who were also detained. Among them is a 32-year-old man from Sofia, considered the main organizer.
Austrian businesses in Bulgaria worry about growing wages
Austrian businesses with local branches and factories are slightly more optimistic about business in Bulgaria than last year, and a third of them plan to increase local employees and investments over the next 12 months. Sofia and Plovdiv's air is polluted above the norms
Another day, another record level of air pollution in almost all of Sofia. In the neighborhoods Ovcha Kupel, Kriva Reka, Dianabad, Mladost, Hladilnika, Lyulin, Druzhba and almost the entire center, the values of dust particles are three times above the norm, according to data from the civic platform AirSofia.info..
Today is the third consecutive day with polluted air above the norms, but the Sofia Municipality has not announced the introduction of a green ticket, whereby public transport tickets are cheaper to encourage people to leave their cars at home. Bulgaria's second biggest city Plovdiv is also facing the same challenges.
