More than 40,000 Sofians had used a "green ticket" by noon

Levels of particulate matter (PM) are completely within the norm over the whole of Sofia - below 50 micrograms (μg) per cubic meter as of 4 p.m, according to data from all measuring stations of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Environment, which are the official source of information on air quality.

The Urban Mobility Center reported that by noon more than 40,000 passengers had purchased a "green ticket", which was issued due to the bad air quality in the capital. This type of ticket will also be offered tomorrow, January 10, for preventive purposes, the municipality explained, to continue to keep pollution levels at bay.

The capital has been beset by particularly poor air quality over the past couple of weeks

Allianz Bulgaria's 50 million euro bonds are now trading on the stock exchange

After Allianz Bank Bulgaria successfully held an IPO of the 50 million euro bonds in December, secondary trading in them officially began today. The bonds have a nominal value of 100 thousand euros and an interest rate of 6%, which means that trading around them cannot be expected to be particularly dynamic, and will be mainly for large investors.

The data shows that applications for bond subscriptions have exceeded 65 million euros, which puts the bonds at the lower threshold of the proposed interest rate between 6% and 6.5%. This is not the first such issue by Allianz Bank Bulgaria - in 2023 it raised 39.5 million euros through 395 bonds, which it also listed on the stock exchange. The difference is that then the offering is entirely private, and the investors are institutional, who buy with the aim of holding until maturity.

Lidl finances 40 civil society projects with 370,000 levs

For the seventh consecutive year, Lidl Bulgaria will be financing projects of non-governmental organizations: associations, foundations, non-profit organizations, community centers and school boards free of charge.

In the seventh edition of the initiative, 265 projects applied for funding, and a total of 370 thousand levs will be given to the 40 approved ideas. For the first time, projects in 10 new settlements for the initiative have been awarded: Sandanski, Tryavna, Belashtitsa village, Sunny Beach resort, Benkovski village, Dalgach village, Ilindentsi village, Oryahovitsa village, Negushevo village, and Yavorovo village.

The most projects submitted - 87 - are in the #BeLocal category, which focuses on the development and preservation of Bulgarian culture, art and historical heritage. The approved projects will be implemented by the end of 2025 and aim to reach nearly 2 million people in 20 settlements, the company announced.
