Still no agreement on parliamentary speaker

Negotiations to elect a Parliamentary speaker have stalled. GERB, the party of former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, has refused to withdraw its nomination of Raya Nazaryan for the role. It also opposes the proposal by the coalition WCC-DB to appoint the oldest MP, Silvi Kirilov from 'There Is Such a People' party, as a temporary Speaker. Without a Speaker, the Parliament cannot begin its legislative work.

Election for Supreme Administrative Court chair

Bulgaria's Supreme Judicial Council has initiated a second procedure to elect a new chair for the Supreme Administrative Court (SAC) after the previous attempt failed last week due to a lack of nominations.

Current chair Georgi Cholakov's term ends in a few days, but the judicial panel has decided he will continue as acting chair until a successor is chosen. This decision has sparked criticism from legal experts and NGOs, who argue that it contradicts constitutional principles.

Cloud Office secures 2 million euro to expand to Greece

Bulgarian cloud services company Cloud Office has secured 2 million euro in funding from venture capital firm Eleven to enter the Greek market. The investment will be disbursed in two phases: 1 million euro now and an additional 1 million euro in March 2025, contingent on the company's performance. This rare single-investor move underscores Cloud Office's strong potential in the region.
