Deadly air crash triggers political row
On Friday the 13th two airman died during their flight preparations before a scheduled air show at the Graf Ignatievo military base. No other casualties were recorded as a result of the incident.
Delyan Peevski of the MRF and the former president Rosen Plevneliev reacted to the tragedy by demanding the resignation of the general in charge of the air forces, Dimitar Petrov, and the general in charge of the airbase, Nikolay Russev. According to official statements so far the aircraft had been thoroughly checked before the crash.
President Radev, himself a former airman, dismissed the calls for the resignations of the two generals and urged against non-expert statements being made regarding the incident, stating that any conclusions can be made only after a thorough investigation.
Eleven Capital seeks Frankfurt listing
The investment company Eleven Capital has shifted to hosting live investor meetings, where it announced plans to list on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. At a recent event, the company presented updates from its portfolio companies, Sensika Technologies and Dronamics.
Global private sector deals in 2024 have decreased in volume but risen 40% in value, signaling sector recovery, particularly in the U.S. and Western Europe.
Eleven Capital's portfolio consists of 26 companies, with financial assets reaching 41 million levs. Sensika plans to list on the BEAM segment of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, while Dronamics aims to begin commercial drone flights by year-end.
Frozen, not stirred
Yeah Chocolate, a young company known for its craft chocolates, has expanded into nitro ice cream delivery, despite the logistical challenges. Founded over three years ago, the company produces handmade chocolates, filled candies, and chocolate-covered nuts, and recently began offering ice cream both via courier and in traditional stores.
The business operates under the company Since Day One, co-owned by Marta Payakova-Gadzelova and Hristo Shiderov. In 2023, the company reported revenues of 300,000 levs and a profit of 70,000 levs. Both co-owners have backgrounds in product design, contributing to product development and packaging.
