Production inflation is stable
Production prices decreased in June by 0.3%, compared to the same month the previous year.
A decrease in prices was recorded in the production and distribution of electricity and heat energy and gas - by 10.7%. An increase was recorded in the mining industry - by 11.0%, and in the processing industry - by 2.6%, according to data from the National Statistical Institute.
There was an increase in prices in the processing industry for: the production of rubber and plastic products - by 10.7%, the production of computer equipment, electronic and optical products - by 9.5%, the production of basic metals - by 9.3%.
Moodys warns Bulgaria over rating
Moodys has warned in its yearly roundup that, if the process of adopting the euro is further delayed, this could lead to Bulgaria having a reduced credit rating.
The assesment does not mean that the country's credit rating will be updated soon, but it does mean that the credit profile is being closely monitored.
But Moodys is indicating that the fight against corruption remains a significant challenge and amplifies the negative effect of the economy's structural flaws such as an aging population and weak infrastructure.
Fewer new commercial buildings
The volume of newly opened commercial establishments reached 45,000 square meters in the second quarter of the year, which is 19% less compared to the same period last year. This is a sign of certain saturation and a slight slowdown in the dynamics of new commercial areas.
About 23% of newly opened stores are located in shopping centers, and the rest - in retail parks, according to a business analysis by real estate consulting company Cushman&Wakefield Forton.
