TSP with one last stab at cabinet
TSP received the third mandate today with the party attempting to form a technocratic government. President Radev handed the mandate to TSP after the first two attempts of GERB and WCC-DB were unsuccessful.
So far, two parliamentary groups - WCC-DB and BSP, as well as some of the independent MPs who left the MRF, have declared their intention to respond to talks.
Shortly after handing over the mandate, the other part of the MRF - the one around Delyan Peevski - said that their MPs will not participate in negotiations to form a cabinet with the third mandate.
Bulgarians travel more
In June, trips of Bulgarians abroad totaled 854.6 thousand, or 8.1% more than in June 2023, according to the data from the National Statistical Institute.
The growth of trips in relation to excursions and holidays is 13.3% on an annual basis. The largest number of trips were to:
- Turkey - 237,600
- Greece - 209,600
- Romania - 75,700
The number of visits by foreign citizens to Bulgaria is 1,472 million, which is an annual growth of 5.8%.
Forest fire continue
A blaze in Greece in the Slavyanka border mountain region has again crossed over into Bulgaria, BNR reported. Two military helicopters from Bulgaria will participate in extinguishing the fire today.
On Bulgarian territory, the fire has affected about 30 acres. "Mainly logs and low vegetation are burning," confirmed the director of forestry in Katuntsi, Plamen Poyukov. Thirty firefighters and forest officials have been on the scene since early morning, and reinforcements from the military formation are currently arriving to join the attempt to tackle it.
At the most critical moment yesterday, two Greek helicopters and one Bulgarian helicopter were involved in extinguishing the fire from the air.
