Ninova resigns as BSP leader after poor showing
BSP chairperson Kornelia Ninova has resigned after branding her party's results as "disastrous" - but she will stay as a member of parliament. The BSP will elect a temporary chairman from among its deputies, and then a congress will elect a new leader.
Ninova refused to concede any weaknesses in BSP's policies, repeating that the party is the only one that has never entered into a coalition with GERB.
All parties lost votes in Sunday's elections except MRF with BSP's final vote tally standing at 7.06%. Her resignation follows that of Hristo Ivanov as leader of Yes Bulgaria, part of the We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria coalition.
