Final predictions as campaign ends

GERB looks set to come first but second to fourth place are too close to call, as is the number of participants in the next parliament. This is the message from the latest polls before the national election on Sunday.

Pollsters report a slight increase in the intention to vote as the campaign ends, so the key to the results could again be held by those 10-12% of electors who will only decide how to vote at polling stations.

Their choice could lead to an even more fragmented parliament - with seven instead of the previous six groups. Or it could lead to the preservation of the current structure, but with a serious change in the number of mandates for the individual factions, which will directly affect the possibilities of forming a government.

Millions of levs for pre-election marketing

Two days before the end of the campaign, the political forces have spent a total of just over 2.5 million levs on advertising in the media. This is according to an analysis by the Institute for the Development of the Public Environment (IRPS), which regularly monitors the spending of parties, coalitions and independent candidates during election campaigns.

The monitoring of media advertising during the election campaign includes the official pages of 39 national and regional media - 9 televisions, 3 radio stations, 11 newspapers and 16 information sites and agencies.

Extrapack invests 20 million levs in new factories

Over the past 2 years Veliko Tarnovo plastic and paper producer Extrapack has invested close to 20 million levs in the dramatic expansion of its capacity and product range. Now, to its three operating plants, the company is adding a fourth, which will allow it to make more and larger sizes of paper bags and other products.

With the acquisition of a majority share in the cardboard box manufacturer "Universal-Polygraph" in 2022, Extrapack included new products in its list. Now it is increasing the capacity for them as well with a new, fifth plant in Pavlikeni. The construction of both buildings has already been completed and the first machines are working, and they will be retrofitted in coming months.
