Final word for the Belene project
Bulgaria will sell its Belene nuclear equipment to Ukraine for BGN 1.2 billion, the national energy parliamentary commission has decided. The decision was moved quickly through the commission in order to be voted tomorrow in the parliament upon the arrival of Ukrainian president Volodimir Zelensky. The deal will have to be conducted in the next 60 days.
Bulgaria paid over one billion for the equipment to the Russian Atomenergostroy years ago. However, the Belene NPP never came to fruition after the project was frozen several times by different governments.
Former PM Borissov to give up immunity
GERB leader Boyko Borissov announced in the parliament that he would waive his immunity. His MP immunity was requested by the now former chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev because of the "Barcelonagate" investigation. So far, Borissov had refused to do so.
The ex-prime minister justified his change of heart with the following: "After all, I am Boyko Borissov. I will give away my immunity. I will not be a victim of blackmail and extortion," he said.
Borissov had repeatedly said that he would not give up his parliamentary protection, because he saw Geshev's activism on the subject of "Barcelonagate" as revenge for the mechanism adopted by the parliament to investigate the chief prosecutor. Borissov added that the former chief prosecutor's actions were the prelude to his new political project - which Geshev has already announced.

Solar energy hit 12.5% of the total production which surpasses the previous record in May by about 20%.
