Borissov: Budget impossible without a government

The state budget will not be passed unless a regular government is installed, said GERB's leader Boyko Borissov to journalists in Parliament. He emphasized that between June 10 and 14, the state would not even be able to pay salaries and pensions.

However, Minister of Economy Nikola Stoyanov said that the apocalyptic scenario described by Borissov would only arise if deputies do not take any action. "The extension law on the budget expires on June 10. On June 11, the state must stop paying. By then, deputies must either adopt a new budget, or there should be a new extension of the extension law," he said.
