Gabriel's priorities: remove Geshev

GERB's PM-designate Maria Gabriel has presented 10 priorities of any potential government she would lead with the first mandate, including a promise to fire current chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev.

Gabriel extended her hand to all political forces except nationalist party Vazrazhdane, making clear that entering the Eurozone is a matter of urgency. She cited stabilization of public finances and a swift adoption of a budget, tackling inflation, judicial and constitutional reform, improving citizens' security and Schengen membership, health policy and labor market measures as among her top concerns. But her most striking demand was for the removal of Geshev for defaming the judiciary system.

Only yesterday the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) said it had specific information about those connected to the 1 May "attack" on Geshev.
