Universities attract foreign students
The number of foreigners studying higher education in Bulgaria is increasing. In the academic year 2021/2022, there were a total of 16 525, accounting for 8.2% of the overall number, the Ministry of Education and Science announced.
In 2013, for example, their share was half that - 4.1%. Foreign students are concentrated in a relatively small number of professional fields. More than half (56.3%) of all foreign students in the country choose two sectors - Medicine and Dentistry.
Outsourcing sector brings almost 6% of Bulgaria's GDP
The total revenues of companies for outsourced services in Bulgaria in 2021 increased by 22.5% to 4.22 billion euros, according to data from the annual report of the sector association AIBEST.
The association forecasts that in the next three years revenues will double and by the end of 2025 the sector will reach 8.9 billion euros in revenues.
Cosmetics company Noesis raises 285 000 euros
Plovdiv-based Noesis, which produces cosmetics for companies' private lines, including Lidl, Kaufland Metro, DM and start-ups in Europe, has raised 285 thousand euros. The external investment will be used to develop new products for as many as three of its own cosmetic brands, one of which will target the pet cosmetics market.
The leading investor in the deal, which all investors enter via a convertible loan into the Noesis sole proprietorship, is the Impetus fund, which is putting in 100 000 euros. Vitosha Venture Partners and New Vision 3 also participate to the tune of 50 thousand euros each. The remaining 85 thousand comes from angel investors.
