Inflation reaches 17.7% in August

Inflation continues to accelerate and has already reached 17.7% in August on an annual basis, according to data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI). The main driver for customer prices is food and energy products. However, all major groups of goods and services contribute to inflation. Thus, it already exceeds the values seen at the beginning of the global financial crisis in 2007 and is comparable to levels last seen at the end of 1998.

Bulgaria plans to issue a 2 billion euro debt

Bulgaria is preparing to issue 2 billion euro foreign debt on the international market, according to Capital Weekly's sources, which refer to messages received from the banks servicing the issue. Also, today a digital roadshow is also being held, where the papers are presented to investors. According to preliminary information, bonds with maturities of 7 and 12 years will be offered.

Export growth continues to accelerate and reached 41.7% in July

Export growth continues to accelerate. As of July, the value of Bulgarian production realized abroad was 41.7% higher compared to a year earlier. In the first seven months, over 54 billion levs worth of goods were exported from the country, according to preliminary data from the NSI. The value is also higher compared to the same period in pre-crisis 2019 - by 61%.
