The Russian foreign ministry said on Monday that it had declared some employees of the Bulgarian embassy in Moscow "persona non grata" in response to Sofia's decision to expel 10 Russian diplomats in March. 91,000 Ukrainians have sought shelter in Bulgaria

The number of Ukrainian refugees in Bulgaria has exceeded 91,000 according to information from the Bulgaria for Ukraine government portal posted on Monday. According to data, the precise number of Ukrainans who have sought shelter in the country is 91 071. Of them, 80,131 are registered under the temporary European protection scheme granted by the EU, which allows them to work, study, live in Bulgaria and benefit from health and social services. Since the beginning of the war, 194 295 Ukrainian citizens have crossed into Bulgaria, while more than 4.9 million people have fled Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion, according to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

WCC loses steam, while Vazrazhdane climbs to fourth place: Alpha Research

The largest party in the ruling coalition, WCC, has continued to lose support since taking power last December and now ranks second, with 18.7 percent of the vote, behind GERB (21.7 percent) in an electoral attitudes survey carried out by the Alpha Research agency. The most significant turnaround, however, is that of the radical pro-Russian Vazrazhdane party, which has more than doubled its support since the election and now enjoys 9.4 percent of the vote - just 0.6 percent behind the third largest party, BSP.
