Positions on Putin

Prime Minister Kiril Petkov has condemned the Russian President's decision to recognize Donetsk and Luhansk as independent entities. In a Twitter post, he said that Bulgaria supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders. "International law should be upheld. We (the EU) will speak in a united voice in defending it," he wrote.

The ruling coalition, however, could not present a unified position on the conflict. Instead, the four parties declared separate positions, but all of them stressed that Vladimir Putin's recent actions violated international law.
