No solution to the requests of road construction companies

The regional minister Violeta Komitova rejected a meeting with representatives of the road-construction companies, who were protesting for the third time in front of her ministry. Komitova said she would only speak to the true owners of the companies, while they keep sending representatives. The protesters responded with calls for her resignation.

They maintain they are still owed millions of levs for completed work, while the ministry claims this is the usual way to do business with them and that it was always like this in previous years. Komitova claims the protest is politically motivated by the ex-ruling GERB party.

Efbet's owner is taken out of the Bulgarian Magnitsky list

Tsvetomir Naydenov, one of the owners of the large betting company Efbet, had been included in the list of the Financial ministry because of his previous business connections to the betting mogul Vasil Bozhkov. Naydenov appealed in front of the Supreme Administrative Court, claiming he has terminated all connections to Bozhkov, whom he implicated in extortion several years ago. This was the beginning of the legal troubles of Bozhkov, who is now in Dubai. The brother and father of Naydenov are also in the Bulgarian list.
