Lisa Young

Lisa Young is a Senior Director – Haemophilia, Pfizer Global Medical Affairs. Her main area of interest throughout her career has been haemostasis accumulating more than 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining the Pharmaceutical industry she studied Medical Biochemistry and worked as a Senior Biomedical Scientist – Haematology – University College London (UCL).

Prof. Mondher Toumi

Professor University of Aix-Marseille, and CEO at Creativ-Ceutical

Mondher Toumi has an M.D. and an M.Sc. in Biological Sciences and a Ph.D. in Economic Sciences. Having worked in the laboratory of pharmacology at the University of Marseille, Mondher joined the Public Health Department. After a successful career in the industry, he was appointed Professor at Lyon I University in the Department of Complex Decision Sciences and Health Policies in February 2009, and he conducts the first European University Diploma of Market Access (www.EMAUD.org). Mondher’s research area focuses on modelling decision making and negotiation processes into theory of complex systems. Complex system theory is a growing field of research that is just emerging in life sciences. Apart from his academic background, he worked in the industry R&D (1995-2008) and was appointed in 2000 to Global Vice President at Lundbeck A/S, a pharmaceutical company specialising in CNS, and was in charge of economics, pricing, market access, epidemiology, risk management and competitive intelligence. He has 300 publications in international peer review journals cited over 2500 times, and contributed to many books. In 2008, Mondher created Creativ-Ceutical, an international consulting firm dedicated to supporting health industries and health authorities for strategic decision making operating in Europe, USA and Japan. He is also Vice-President of the French Society of Health Economics (SFES), and President of the International Society for Systems Sciences in Health Care (ISSSHC). He is member of various boards of directors of the health industry and he is dedicated to structure organisation operational strategy and performance management of organisations. Consultant to the World bank, contributor in various projects organized by the European Commission, WHO and other international organizations. Currently Mondher is Professor, University of Aix-Marseille, France.

Kathrine Myhre

CEO, Norway Health Tech

Kathrine Myhre established the health cluster Norway Health Tech (previously named Oslo Medtech) in 2009 and has since then been the CEO of the organization. The cluster is organized as a non-for-profit member organization, focusing on innovation, business creation and international scaling of health companies. Norway Health Tech was awarded the NCE-status (Norwegian Centre of Expertise) by Innovation Norway’s cluster program in 2015 and received Gold Label-status by the European cluster organization in 2016. Kathrine Myhre has a bachelor degree from the University of Oslo in political science and a Master degree in Political Science from the University of Reading, UK in 2001. From 2008 she held the position as Director of Innovation at the company IT Fornebu. Kathrine Myhre has initiated and led numerous strategic and innovative processes and projects, within a broad spectrum: conduction of creative processes, market analysis, business creation, handling of IPR, marketing and sales and facilitating financing of key projects and businesses.

Arild Kristensen

Director for Health, Validé

Arild Kristensen is the director for Health in Validé which is a regional development company that facilitates innovation projects from the early R&D phase until commercialization – from startups to being the technology transfer office of 10 research institutes, and also involved in developing 3 cluster projects. He holds several board positions, and is the CEO for the норвежкия Norwegian Smart Care Cluster – a member in the Norwegian Innovation Clusters program. Arild holds a degree in economics and business administration from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. He has extensive experience as a manager, salesman, entrepreneur, and consultant in companies such as IBM, Datus (iSolutions), Metier and Eskaler.

Knut Ringstad

Business Partnership Department, Innovation Norway

Knut Ringstad is working at the Business Partnership Department at Innovation Norway and is the Programme Director of the Business Development, Innovation and SMEs Programme in Bulgaria. Innovation Norway, a state entity, is the Norwegian Government’s main instrument for innovation and development of Norwegian enterprises and industry, both domestic and abroad. Knut has a master degree on political science, law and history from the University of Oslo and has served at different Norwegian diplomatic stations in Africa and USA. Together with his colleagues from the EEA Grants team in Oslo, Knut is working to implement various programmes. The Bulgarian business programme, part of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism (Norway Grants) called "Business development, innovation and SME Programme" aiming at increased value creation and sustainable growth in the Bulgarian private sector and increased bilateral cooperation.

MD. Slaveyko Djambazov

Managing Director, HTA

Graduated English language boarding school (1995), medicine (2001), healthcare management (2007), MBA (2010). Dr Djambazov is a serial entrepreneur and was part of the team, which built the first GMP-certified pharmaceutical plant in Bulgaria (2004), a network of hospitals for the treatment of myocardial infarction, saving thousands of lives (2008), then a network of chemotherapy clinics, treating >30% of cancer patients in the country (2013), currently involved in the improvement of the outpatient care and mass introduction of telemedicine (2015 - now). Dr Djambazov is involved in more than 20 other companies as a co-founder, investor, advisor or friend. He teaches healthcare management and introduces health technology assessment (HTA) in Bulgaria, co-authors textbooks and scientific papers, frequent public speaker.

MD. Stanimir Hasurdjiev

Chairman, National Patients’ Organization of Bulgaria (NPO)

Dr. Stanimir Hasurdjiev is one of the founders and current Chairperson of the Bulgarian National Patients’ Organization (NPO) – the biggest patients’ umbrella organization in Bulgaria. Dr. Hasurdjiev has devoted himself to patients’ advocacy and defence of patients’ rights. As of May 2013, Dr. Hasurdjiev is a board member of the European Patients’ Forum as well as a member of several other regional and international organisations and networks. He is one of the initiators and founding members of the joint initiative of the European Patients’ Forum and the Bulgarian National Patients’ Organisation – the Patient Access Partnership – a multi stakeholder platform for finding innovative solutions to reduce inequities in access to healthcare in Europe. Dr. Hasurdjiev serves as a Secretary of the National "Health Partnership" which was officially launched in March 2015 as a permanent consultative body to the Bulgarian Council of Ministers.

Rui Mihnos, Head of Regional Scientific Engagement, Philip Morris International

Rui Minhos is a pharmaceutical sciences graduate, with a master’s degree in Regulation of Medicines and Health Products by the Faculty of Pharmacy University of Lisbon. Rui is member of Pharmacists Association since 2003, and member of the College of Regulatory Affairs Specialists since 2009. Rui has started his career at Faculty of Pharmacy University of Lisbon in 2000 as Human Physiology assistant and research fellow in skin physiology and cutaneous bioengineering at the Human Physiology Laboratory. Between 2000 and 2003, Rui was co-author of over 25 publications/communications in conferences, scientific magazines and abstract books, in the areas of psoriasis, skin physiology, dermatology and cutaneous bioengineering. Between 2003 and 2010, after concluding his graduation, Rui was invited teacher (partial time) of Human Physiology at Lusofona University. Before joining PMI, as Manager Regulatory Affairs, in 2010, Rui acquired a vast experience in the pharmaceutical industry: Between 2003 and 2005 - Project Manager and later Partner of a consultancy company; between 2006 and 2007 - Technical and Regulatory Affairs Director at Omega Pharma Portugal; between 2007 and 2009 - Regulatory Affairs Director and Qualified Person of Genzyme Portugal; between 2009 and 2010, Business Unit Director of Personalized Genetic Health at Genzyme Portugal. Since March 2015, Rui has joined the European Region Corporate Affairs team as Manager Regulatory Affairs EU, at Philip Morris International Center of Operations in Lausanne and was promoted to Director Regulatory and Scientific Engagement in January 2018. Since May 2018, Rui has assumed a new position in the Scientific and Public Communications department as Head of Regional Scientific Engagement responsible for Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa Regions.

Dr. Lisa Bonandonna has been in a number of positions with growing responsibility at local, regional and global level in GSK. She has held commercial roles both in Australia and in Italy and has managed company’s global adult vaccines portfolio. In 2012, Lisa joined GSK's CGA Team as Vice President, leading the negotiations for the first agreement signed between the industry and the WHO under the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Framework. Prior to taking over as GM of GSK Bulgaria in July 2018, she was the Global Lead of GSK-Save the Children's partnership and access to GSK's medicinal products portfolio. Lisa has a PhD in immunology from the University of Melbourne, Australia, MBA in Public Health Policy from LSE and a Master’s Degree in Business from Melbourne Business School.

Deyan Denev

Mr. Deyan Denev is heading the Association of Research-based Pharmaceutical Manufacturers in Bulgaria since October 2003. He has a legal education from Sofia University and is an expert in pharmaceutical legislation and pharmaceutical policy. As Director of the association he is leading the advocacy activities of R&D pharmaceutical industry in Bulgaria on key issues regarding pharmaceutical policy, regulatory environment, intellectual property, pharmaceutical market development. He is a member of the Supervisory Board of the National Health Insurance Fund on behalf of the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria since January 2014. Between 2008 and 2013 he was a representative of the pharmaceutical industry in the Transparency Commission, which is an appeal body for all piecing and reimbursement decisions in Bulgaria. He is a member of the National HIV/AIDS Council at the Bulgarian Government and a member of the CEE Task Force of EFPIA (European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations)
