"Capital 100": The record 2022
The incredible events of recent years are racing. First, the Covid pandemic has put the whole world on lockdown. Last year, Russia invaded Ukraine. Both extremely rare and unexpected events directly affected the global economy, and therefore every company, including here.
But the magnitude of change in the financial indicators of local companies in 2022 is undoubtedly a record.
Here are two unprecedented numbers in the Bulgarian corporate history of the 21st century: The turnover of all over 375 thousand Bulgarian companies has grown by 34%. And for the largest one hundred companies, revenues are up by 60% to BGN 132 billion.
These records are unlikely to ever be broken. The doping that came from the combination of the post-Covid recovery and the deficits following the war in Ukraine is already subsiding. But the world seems to avoid the recession and Bulgarian companies seem to be in a healthy condition. Especially in sustainable sectors such as engineering and high technology.
The cocktail and award ceremony from the "Capital100" ranking will bring together the managers and owners of the largest companies in Bulgaria, bankers, investors, media partners and will provide an opportunity for networking and exchange of information and ideas about the challenges of the next year and new opportunities for growth.
