“Digitalization” has become more than just a buzzword for drawing attention to products and services. Information technologies are changing every industry and finances are no exception. The digital revolution continues to change traditional financial institutions and the transformation is on all levels – from business models and strategies through the applicable regulatory framework to meeting the end client’s needs.
A lot of the Bulgarian financial institutions have been following the trends for years now and are taking all the necessary steps to adapt to the latest technologies in a timely manner. They have significantly changed their business strategies and are increasingly committed to developing and providing a wide range of innovative services and tools to meet the growing customer demands for personalization, experience, speed, and security.
The traditional providers of financial services are creating, acquiring or partnering with FinTech companies in order to achieve high end-user satisfaction. In the same time, blockchain technologies (and cryptocurrencies in particular) are increasingly causing discussions about their place in the context of the traditional financial institutions and the sector is already getting less suspicious of such innovative technologies.
The regulatory and institutional environment of the European Union regarding the financial field also plays a major role in the industry’s change, as the work of the lawmakers continues towards ensuring a stable and secure digital financial ecosystem in a state of open communication between providers of financial services. The implementation of the revised Payment Service Directive (PSD2) is in the limelight as well as the Regulatory Technical Standards that are expected to become applicable in September 2019.
For 21st consecutive year, the Financial Tech Forum organized by ICT Media and ISACA Sofia Chapter, will gather financial institutions and technology companies to look into the metamorphosis of the industry, to answer the questions that matter to the sector and to highlight the topics that will shape the evolution of the next-generation financial institutions.
Who will attend the conference:
This forum targets representatives of the banking and non-banking financial sector: banks, insurance companies, pension insurance companies, regulators, payment operators, financial brokers, microcredit financial companies, including online consulting firms, leasing houses, associations, the Government, FinTech companies, and others.
In 2018 the event was attended by senior executives (CEO, COO, CFO, board members), CIOs, heads of departments, project leaders, IT and Security experts, auditors, business analysts, consultants, experts in payment systems.
